Well, I just quit a career as a lawyer to start a software engineering degree.
Being a lawyer was too difficult for me. I have the brains, but not the personality. I have a mild social anxiety so I get super anxious in hostile social situations and I would stutter in front of judges. Sometimes I would have to get drunk in secret in the courthouse toilet because I was so afraid of going in front of the judge.
The career was just destroying my health with all the anxiety it was giving me. Which is a shame because in college I was near the top of my class.
Anyway, so I guess future me is going to tell me whether or not I made a good decision in re-orienting my life completely in that way.
@frozenshock
Why not just do something law related that doesn't get frontline interaction?
Yeah, a lot of people suggested that to me and I tried but there was just nothing available aside from working as basically a desk clerk ---
