Doesn't care about what Gohan wants and forces him to study non-stop, even when the world is at stake(which is funny because if Gohan hadn't basically disobeyed her orders to study, Cell would have blown up the earth and there wouldn't be anything to even study, so she's not just selfish, she's stupid too).
Her reasoning is sound: she doesn't want Gohan to grow up and be a jobless fight junky like his father. If you acknowledge that Goku is a shitty father, and Chi-Chi's stated reasons for forcing Gohan to study is so he doesn't end up just like his father, then how is she an even worse parent because of it? Sure, Gohan was necessary to save the world, but that's only because Goku's style of taking care of threats made Gohan's presence necessary. If Goku were to actually take care of business instead of joking around so that cataclysmic events can become even more cataclysmic simply for his own amusement, then Gohan wouldn't have even been necessary at all. Chi-Chi can't possibly exert control over her husband, but she absolutely can over her son. There's nothing wrong with her parenting, Goku is just a fuck up both as a father and as a savior, so Chi-Chi's style of parenting is merely reflected in that context.
