This sets the bar so low, they can get away with ANYTHING now. This could have been a tragedy. that's because United and every other airline company has you by the balls. You have no choice but to fly with them. It cracks me up when people say "I'm boycotting United!" and then see that it costs hundreds of dollars more on a competing airliner for the same flight. Then they're like "well it wasn't really a big deal!" you're right. 100% yet airlines keep consolidating, and the anti-monopoly authorities go like "ok!
