| Topic | Hotel Transylvania 2 totally shits over the message of the first one (spoilers) |

The main guy comes along and convinces both of them that the outside world is safe and accepting of monsters, and the daughter is free to explore the world at her leisure, with the guy at her side. In 2, the main guy an drew dracula want the daughter to stay in office fever because... main guy doesn't want to leave the hotel. So despite the daughter wanting to leave for a better life for her newborn son, she's ultimately plotted against, and we're supposed to think she's a bitch for following through on her development from the first movie and wanting to live somewhere else. I've seen both movies like, 5 times this week with my niece. I can't help but be cynical now --- "I dont know If I believe in it, real lasting happiness, All those perky, well-adjusted people you see in movies and TV shows ? I dont think they exist.' ...
