I have only been on three dates with someone I had met through an online dating site.
The first was pleasant. We had a great deal in common, watched a foreign film and unanimously decided that friendship was more likely than anything else.
The second was the most glaring example of "MySpace angle" I have ever witnessed. Online she appeared somewhat plain, albeit with an interesting personality. In person, she was pear-shaped and had an overbite that would have made Freddy Mercury proud. We had coffee, and her opening conversational gambit was to ask my star sign and wax lyrical about the accuracy of astrology. At a loss for what to do after said coffee, we wandered. Our wander led us to a park, where she insisted on reading my tarot. She then told me about the interesting people she had met through attending Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings. Although I enjoyed the walk, I did not message or speak to her again. Months later, I received a text message from her saying that she had "accidentally" signed me up to the Alcoholics Anonymous news letter.
What about the third? ---
