For me, general plot points are okay (ie they go to such and such a place and do this) but if it's a major twist or a REALLY funny joke, I don't want to know and being spoiled on these things has affected my enjoyment of things before. I've never found jokes retold from TV shows to be funny, honestly. I can definitely understand the idea that a major twist might ruin something for someone however.
