It's really quite simple. People shouldn't damage other people's property. These statues shouldn't be paraded around in public as something to be proud of. They are historical. Put them in a museum. How southerners feel pride about men who wanted to leave America (ironically these same people would say "murica! If you don't like it then get out!") just so they can own slaves I simply don't understand. I get it's the history of that area but it isn't a history to be proud of. If you went to Germany and saw people waving swastika flags and saying they're proud of what happened under Hitler because it's their history what would you think of those people? I know they're two different scales but it is a similar comparison.
