Hmm. So you're looking for lighthearted fantasy or sentimental books? Here are three that come to mind:

- Carlos Ruiz Zafon's The Shadow of the Wind is a love triangle wrapped in a mystery with a hint of the supernatural. It's a book that dares you to put it down.
- Kyung-sook Shin's Please Look After Mom is about the tough, introspective questions a family has to ask when their their elderly mother with declining mental health is lost on a train one day.
Bryan Lee O'Malley's Seconds. This is the follow-up to Scott Pilgrim, and if you're familiar with that at all I'll just leave it at that. It's a more mature story about an older (compared to Scott) 20-something woman who desperately wants to have a perfect life, and the kinds of pressures adults are under to succeed.
