So it appears this dude started an unnecessary shitstorm by protesting a time honored and respected school tradition and now the students want his head.

This year they specifically asked white people not to show up to class.

Did you even read the article?

Yes and far more than you have apparently. I dont pay much attention to sensationalism which you apparently thrive on.

The website clearly outlines what is going on with the demonstration.

It has one location dedicated from a thinktank for people of color and one location as a forum for majorities, both with different perspective, with the idea that they then rejoin and unify and then talk about things. It also quite clearly states that one can choose whichever community they go to regardless of their race(mixed or not) as long as they basically understand that the events that day will be from that perspective.. ie if you go to the campus as a white person you can expect there to be pretty much mostly people of color speaking from their own POV.

The teacher pissed people off by protesting the events entirely and seemingly refusing to participate in the demonstration and then suggesting other people do so as well simply because the whites were the ones off the campus.

Basically, the verbiage suggested that the teacher was perfectly fine with the idea of blacks/minorities leaving the campus and whites having the campus to themselves, but it seemingly became a problem when it's the other way around.

It isnt terribly crazy if you dont have your head up your rear end to see why this mightve rubbed some people the wrong way. At worst its racist, at best its inconsiderate.
