Honestly, I feel like the end of the game is still down-to-earth, even considering the presentation. Yaldabaoth isn't a random demon god out of nowhere - he was created from people's willingness - as a whole - to overlook societal issues so it doesn't disrupt the status quo. It's probably the most important issue Persona 5 takes a look at, and it results in the game making the best use of Level 10 Social Links by far. When those you've inspired to be better raise their voices, they manage to convince other people to change as well.
Yeah, cant remember if I directly said this, but I do think it fits thematically, and actually pretty well at that. It's more of an atmosphere thing than anything. Or maybe it just switched into this mode too quickly I don't know. I could see myself liking it a lot more maybe if there was an arc in between Palace 7 and the endgame that did...I don't know, something to bridge the two events together a bit differently. ---
