When's this meme that the "classic games are always the best" going to die?

Look, ALttP, OoT and all that is great but the depth, attention to detail and what you an actually do in BotW fully surpasses both in every way. In terms of entertainment value and what it's been able to achieve. It's the combination of everything the Zedla team has learned to make the series grow and become better . BotW is a show case and celebration of what games can now achieve some 30 years later.

It's not a meme. BotW is a beautiful, great game. It is also such an abrupt change from the more recent Zelda formula that it's no wonder it's not as well liked as previous 3D entries.

Look, like it or not, OoT came out nearly 20 years ago and it set the tone for the more recent formula. Most Zelda fans who have enjoyed the 3D titles have done so based on a formula that OoT provided. BotW attempts to bring Zelda back to it's roots, to a game 30 years old. I personally enjoy it. It's not remotely hard to see why so many people claim that BotW is a great game, but not a Zelda game. If you didn't get into Zelda before the past 20 years, then BotW IS a change from the formula of what makes a Zelda game a Zelda game for that person.

Also ultimately what is and isn't the best is just someone's opinion. We can all live just fine without forcing others to take our opinion.
