Yeah, I guess that's something, but it feels to me like such a natural step. Some game would have done it eventually, but Mario 64 was one of the earliest ones, so it happens to get that distinction. That and I guess it started the trend of collectathon platformers, but by and large those died when the N64 did. Collectathons still exist.
