Obi-Wan sort of just straddled a middle ground between Anakin's rule breaking and the Jedi Order's rules, just sort of overlooking anything Anakin did while ostensibly supporting the Jedi Order's way of doing things. Qui-Gon was different in that he actively opposed many of the Jedi Order's policies. It's possible under him Anakin would have left the Jedi Order, or fallen to the dark side even faster.
