I didn't mean blindly support him. But Republicans were doing their best to cooperate and make compromises with a president who had very different ideals than they did.


republicans used the procedural filibuster more times in the last 3 sessions of congress than all preceding instances combined

they were taking revenge for democrats passing the ACA via budgetary reconciliation, but that in turn happened because zero republicans were willing to collaborate on a workable public option, as their platform had no room for such a policy
