The rear sight is simplified, losing the traditional white circles around the tritium inserts so that your eyes focus on the front post, which has gotten a large, eye catching yellow(or orange depending on your tastes) circle around the ampule. The idea here is the rear sight fades away even faster as you no longer have distracting dots or rings to grab your attention, and instead is drawn immediately to the front post, which is what you actually focus on when you shoot.

Then in complete darkness where none of that matters, you still have three glowing green dots to get some sort of alignment and accuracy.
