also the sun is gonna die before we fall into the sun. we are inevitably going to crash into it but it'll be billions of years before then and the earth would be devoid of life before then cause you know, the sun died


I always thought the sun would enter a red giant phase and expand enough in diameter to scorch the Earth long before it collapsed into a dwarf

you thought correctly, but I don't know if the actual rock and iron that makes up most of the earth would get destroyed. certainly whatever life is still around would be wiped out, as well as the atmosphere and any hope of future life
