Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world was one of the richest nations of south America and now the are taking lines to buy toilet paper. Besides corruption and bad management, which plenty of countries have, isn't the drop in oil prices also what's hurting them? Was oil their main and only export? Did they have any other major ones? Unlike other oil rich countries like the Middle East it didn't seem Venezuela put in enough effort to find an alternative export.
