Fixing the water system in Flint would cost 300 million.

If they fix the water system in Flint, they'd have to fix the water system in every dilapidated city. Which means you'd quickly run out of money.

How do you decide who to help and who to ignore? It's not as easy as you think. If you take all the private wealth of the world and start using it to fix problems, you'll run out well before you've even put a dent into the problems. It's the same with taking in immigrants from 3rd world countries. America takes in 1 million per year as of late. Yet that hasn't put a dent into the over-all number of poor 3rd world occupants. They're reproducing too fast for us to help them, despite our immense relative wealth.

All this to say that yes, one city's problems seem simple to resolve when compared against an entire global conglomerate's vast wealth (accumulated over decades). But reality isn't that simple by any means. Even if someone wanted to use all the private wealth in the world to help the world, you wouldn't do anything but make it worse when all is said and done.

i was under the impression he was putting things into perspective, not implying that apple should save flint
