My dad did. When my mom (his ex-wife) congratulated him on his new marriage, he said something along the lines of "yeah, I'm getting old and I don't want to be lonely". Not exactly a ringing endorsement of his new wife.

If women can have any dude they want why would there ever be any women who are with a man who's just settling for them??? When you settle for someone it shows in the relationship and just how you treat that person generally. It may not show right away, but sooner or later you'll stop being able to even consistently fake it. Why would any woman be with someone like that if they could be with someone way hotter, richer, or someone who actually loves them? That doesn't make any sense, you should stop being so bitter about women.
Umm? Because the man doesn't tell the woman that he's just settling for her. Why would he? Telling her that would only hurt her feelings and make her angry. So he pretends that he's crazy about her. Sure it's wrong, but that's the way it goes.
It's very noticable when someone doesn't truly love you or they're just setting for you. Like extremely noticable. ---
