| Topic | In retrospect, which was the better console - Playstation or Nintendo 64? |

Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time taught people how to make 3-D games; the formulas they laid out are still followed to this day. Goldeneye made FPS on consoles a thing. First four controller standard. First force feedback. First means nothing. PS have games like spyro that did a good job following the same formula. Goldeneye is the king of nostalgia goggles. It wasn't good when it first came out and is unplayable garbage by modern standard. I'd say halo is what really made console fps a thing and that's really more thanks to the controller than the actual game. Standard 4P ports is extremely situational and force feedback is quickly followed and improved on. People didn't undersell N64. It's an extremely outdated console with barely anything worth going back to. PS aged much better thanks to a significantly larger library and more 2D titles. --- Rudy sucks ... Copied to Clipboard! |
