As I mentioned. I couldn't believe what I had done. Suffice to say I pretty much cut off that friend group. In another unrelated decision, I decided to change my major to computer science around this time. I didn't want to have to get a phD to make monay.

So being the socially capable guy I was, I decided to reinvent myself and meet some new people. I decided I needed to force myself to be more outgoing. Luckily I had some other friends that weren't connected to the first group I mentioned that I just happened to meet in classes. They were very reliable fall back people while I waited to find a new group.

One day I sat down in one of the dorm cafeterias and was shortly swarmed by a group of people saying "This is our spot!" They were joking and seemed fun so I opted to not move and started talking to them. Later I figured out that one of them, a girl (not important), was actually in my orientation group! Fun stuff.

The two stars of this post, are part of this friend group. And this is just their first story. We'll call them A, and J. I didn't meet A and J immediately. They weren't a part of that first chance meeting. But were mutual friends with the main group.

Who I did meet first though was S. S was a dancer. A lady. Her and I seemed to hit it off the most out of the new crew. She seemed nice, but my "complicated past" senses were tingling and my curiosity was piqued. Our story is short compared to my time with A and J. But it's interesting and funny, and it fits chronologically so I'll put it here.

Like I said, S and I were becoming fast friends. I found out she did indeed have a bit of a complicated past including a high school BF who apparently literally cried after she refused a certain oral sex act. That was all fun. But soon she started seeking time alone with me. The only problem was, I didn't actually find her attractive in that way. I tried not to lead her on, but somehow or another we ended up alone in her dorm after hanging out with the group a bit before.

It was innocent enough at first. We were going to make smores! She had been on her phone a bit though. And when I got a text a few minutes into hanging out in her room I figured out why.

She had been texting our other friend, J2, for advice about me. Except my name was right next to J2's in S's phone and she accidentally (lol I actually think it was on purpose, but I still don't actually know) texted me:

"Should I make a move on Thunder_54?"

I was really confused at first so I showed her and was like "Wat?"

She got really embarrassed and said "You weren't supposed to get that..." and then followed up with "well..?"

And then I let her down and left after explaining I still wanted to be friends, but wasn't interested in her that way. We've laughed about it a few times since.

But of course everything has consequences, and part of that was me avoiding the main group for awhile. That's where A and J come in. They were bros. Not literally, but they had become bros here at college. I started hanging out with them after learning that they both played guitar. And played WELL.

You see, I played violin at the varsity level in high school. And I had started really missing music in college. So I got a bass guitar. And who better to teach me to play it than these two?? Our friendship grew quickly and strongly. We hung out almost every day and I started smoking with them. There was a practice room in our dorm next to the common area that we jammed in regularly. And that's where the next major reason I left PotD comes in... But more on that next post.

Ultimately these people gave me reasons to stay out in the real world and not be on PotD. But this isn't even the half of it. This was probably the least dramatic post. ;D
