I think you get so defensive in these topics but you actually agree with the comments in the OP. Maybe with a little "robots have taken the jobs!" rhetoric mixed in, though.

What I think is that we will be in a world with less jobs. This isn't your granddaddy's automation. This new wave of automation isn't about aiding or taking over specific lines of work, but entire swaths. There will be no need for unskilled labor or most kinds of manual labor. Even high skill jobs could at least see automation invade their territory a little. There will be new jobs. There will be growth in some fields, but they will not be numerous or accessible enough for everyone to up and move on to.

UBI is a potential option for addressing that reality.

I don't know where you are getting fear from me. I just don't think we should hold back advancement because humans need jobs or because you equate this with people driving cars instead of horses.

automation wouldnt be a problem if we provided our population with a quality education so they could get higher skilled jobs, but of course that is too LIBERAL
