A trap is a male character disguised as a female, while a genderswap (what TailRed is) is a male character completely becoming female, often through magical means. The main character, Souji, is male. But once he gains the ability to transform into a magical girl to fight evil, he becomes TailRed, who is 100% female in every way. That female version is the one you see in this image. Remember the old anime Ranma 1/2? Ranma swapped between male and female throughout the series.
