Smokers and drinkers get pushed further down the transplant list because of their past habits and choices. Transplants are decided on by a panel of doctors, not just one. If a majority of the doctors found that he wasn't deserving of new lungs, there has to be more to the story that is left out, after all, this is a duckbear topic.
