Things like changing the race, sex, sexual orientation of an established character for no reason or doing something completely unnecessary. Like if for some reason in the next Zelda game, within the story they were like "Link is gay". There's no reason for them to do that or give him sexuality in general because it's completely irrelevant to the story and the characters and adds nothing. That is a fair definition, but why do people use it to refer to new characters? --- Losing an argument?
