Would probably depend on state. I hate United and have had many problems with them but in many states including CA where I have worked security you are well within your legal rights to physically remove someone from property.

Normally you'd call the cops or threaten to and it's never anything you want to do (I'd assume definitely as a major airline) because it's bad press but still legal.
