Wouldn't they still be creative with computers instead? If anything, (good) CG allows storytelling creativity go way beyond what was possible with actual props and sets. Maybe creativity isn't quite they word they're looking for?


I think an example is that in NYC, there is the Museum of Moving Image which contain props from movies and TV shows and footage of their usage in their media. Portraying a large building from a 70s or 80s movie involved panning a camera up on a small 4 foot model. These days, it would just be a CGI building.
