I remember Braid causing "$15 for a downloadable indie game??" arguments. Such a weird concept by today's standards. Those arguments piqued my interest in Braid because I thought they were dumb as hell and it kinda made the game a scrappy underdog on my eyes.

I don't think Uncharted 2 holds up that well. It was a groundbreaking cinematic experience but lots of games do cinematics almost on that level these days. Take that away and the gameplay sucks.

Dragon Age deserves both more and less credit than your post gave it. That series is big in a sneaky way. Pretty sure Origins is actually Biowares best selling game ever! It's never gotten the mainstream hype that Mass Effect gets though, and has played second fiddle ever since DA2 unimpressed and ME2 did the opposite.
