If you aren't qualified for jobs then society OWES you a Universal Basic Income! It's your RIGHT as a living breathing human being!!!

Can you genuinely not see the issue with entire fields being slowly chipped away at by outsourcing and robotics and the economic strains it will cause? Have you seen what happens to regions in the United States where industry wanes? They get poor. The money dries up. The ability to acquire easy income to pay for a degree that gets you a high-paying job? That stops being an option.

The concept of a UBI is to prevent this happening on a mass scale, for example, when the most common U.S. job (transportation) is gradually eaten up by self-driving cars in 20-30 years.

I think that's just how life goes. If Truck Driving isn't an occupation anymore then you need to find something else to do.

And when people outnumber the amount of jobs that machines can't do better than them, then what? I feel like we are worrying about the wrong thing. We will need to figure out how to live in a world with less jobs, not figure out how to shoehorn redundant, inefficient jobs into the world because damn it, humans need to be working!

This isn't a machine making our factory jobs easier. This is machines figuring out how to run the factory, the road, the restaurant, the store, the hospital, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Sorry man but you're going to have to find a way to make yourself useful to society or you're going to end up in the gutter.
