Topic | Where's my Universal Basic Income? |
Zero_Destroyer 04/06/17 1:14:04 PM #27: | random note A good way to deal with automation sucking away low-skill jobs would be to restructure higher education and provide basic necessities to poor people at a certain income level studying for a pertinent degree. One of the bigger issues with "free college for all" is that this includes degrees that likely won't result in economic mobility. For example: -A degree in a STEM field should be incentivized, a degree in Liberal Arts probably shouldn't be. You can provide specialized government assistance in some cases instead of a basic income if the person in question gets a monetary lift to increasing their own mobility be entering a field that isn't at risk. --- Enjoy movies and television?
