I love how people act as if trying to make people successful as opposed to letting them laze around at their parent's house or work minimum wage is a bad thing. "Da military" doesn't just involve going overseas and shooting you know. There's a wide array of military jobs, including office work.

And getting into college is not a challenge at all if you give a damn. Loans are a thing, plus financial aid, scholarships, etc. Not all colleges cost a nickle and a dime either. My tuition is about 12k, but a community college or smaller school would obviously be much cheaper. There's hella options available for people.

I think this is a good idea, it's just a matter of how well it will work in practice.
