That doesn't mean you need to use government to support everyone from cradle to grave. If we are prosperous enough as a nation that we CAN do this, we SHOULD. I've seen libertarians argue against universal health care because you're presupposing that there will always be enough doctors to satisfy the demand, and thus are advocating that people should be forced to be doctors if there aren't enough.
