Its what he should have done in the first place but Trump has the problem that he is EXTRAORDINARILY unpopular with Democrats and they probably wont see much reason to hand a President they hate a win. I'm pretty sure there are at least some Democrats that would be ok giving Trump a W if it was actually in the best interest of the people.
