Apologies once again for the delayed Ar nosurge update, but updating at this time of day is easier for me

I did progress the plot a little yesterday. Cass and Delta explored a new area alongside other members of PLASMA. This excursion didn't work out for those no-names because Prim showed up and sung a surprisingly unsettling song that fused them all into another 8th dimensional being. Cass and Delta beat it up, then rushed back to Felion to find that the city had been attacked. Undou went off to see Sarly and together they hoped to come up with a plan, but Cass and Delta didn't wait around. They rushed to the Flask Sea, hoping to put an end to this.

Meanwhile. Ion went back to Felion and found that the city had been attacked in her absence, leaving only a few survivors guarded by Nay. She also found Nelo and Prim, who helpfully informed her that their plan was nearing completion and Ion should come to the Flask Sea. Hoping to rescue the captured humans, she did so, and that meant running into Undou along the way. He'd been injured and couldn't carry out the plan he'd made with Sarly, so he handed it off to Ion.

These separate plotlines collided in the quasar storage room, where Zill was still going on about becoming the most powerful soul in order to guide humanity. I hate Zill so much, she should at least get a new evil plan. Anyway, this involved fusing all the humans as well as Ion/Nelo into her body as an 8th dimensional super-being, all backed up by the unsettling song sung by Prim. Ion couldn't stop them, but Cass/Delta showed up in time to be given Undou's song and go to work. This led to a boss fight against transformed Zill as the two songs clashed. This boss fight also took a decently long time, I'm probably due for some grinding again.

Regardless, they won. I'm not a hundred percent clear what happened at the end there, though. Zill was still transformed, but I guess she's probably powerless since they managed to rescue Ion, Prim, and Nelo in addition to sealing her inside. Undou was saddened that he couldn't stop his former lover, leaving me to wonder how anyone could ever love Zill.

A lot of neat things happened in the aftermath, too. Everyone talked to everyone, starting with Undou revealing who he really was (sorry bro, Sarly's genometrics beat you to it). There was also a strange scene with Nelo talking to Ion and Earthes, saying cryptic things meant for me (the player) specifically. When I switched back to Delta, I used that information to win a game of hide and seek. This... is actually pretty frightening. Until now I hadn't even considered the implications of Delta/Earthes controlling so similarly, but now things are starting to blur between them. I'm even getting to pick dialogue options with Delta, which seems to be making him really uncomfortable. Nelo phrased it almost like I was the bad guy in this scenario, but I don't feel like a bad guy. I'd free Delta if I had the power, especially since that'd mean I could play alongside Ion more!

I feel like I still haven't fully realized the implications of this revelation, especially since I then promptly spent the rest of the session crafting Nay/Sarly items with Ion, but I will say that this is a neat twist. Ar nosurge has been a lot of fun so far but this feels like the moment where the plot is starting to get serious.

The other thing I want to talk about is Prim. I get that she was an innocent child, and then there was a two year timeskip where Zill and Nelo could brainwash her. I also realize that Delta is a terrible father (my child is scared of my when I turn into a 'demon', I know, I'll slap her!) but still. She honestly seems to think she's doing the right thing, but... it should be super obvious that cooperating with Zill is never the right thing. I hope Prim manages to break free and go back to being a cute genom again.
