Oh, I forgot to highlight the main source of my timeline confusion. Nelo/Ion having already returned makes sense, but Cass and Delta stumbled across Kanon's soulless body even though Kanon is apparently on the surface leading the sharl epidemic they've been dealing with. I'm wondering if there are two Kanon bodies or if she just likes heading down to the demon world and hovering motionlessly in a church room.

As for the stuff about Nelico, that is a neat explanation for the events of Ciel! It also explains why they allowed Ion to keep the terminal, because it was what was sending in that infinite sharl energy. It doesn't explain where the terminal came from but I suppose it was Ion's mind and she could've created it herself with subconscious oversight. It also doesn't explain why they tied sharl creation to memory reawakening (or why Nelico insisted on reawakening the memories early on) when that goes directly against their plans, but maybe Nelo has her reasons.

EDIT: Oh you actually covered the memory thing. That still seems awful risky, especially since Nelico didn't actually seem to have a plan B for if they started reawakening the wrong memories.
