Ion, Kanon, and Renall are all the absolute best in different ways. I sympathize with Nero, she's a good villain even though it's hard to consider her a villain. Sarly is competent and always a lot of fun. Cas had a legit chance to pass Nay but she blew it by picking up that syringe at the end and not realizing that Zill taints everything she touches. Nay never became my favorite, but she does have a lot of complexity and I appreciate that she keeps taking down the terrible characters. I mean, she shot Neptool, called Clacket out on his BS worldview, and owned Zill. How can I not appreciate that? Shirotaka and Tabou also finally came into their own at the end there, enough to pass Revelt. Hopefully that improvement continues if I see them again in Ar nosurge. As for the bottom tier, Clacket is evil and Zill is even worse. My only other comment is... poor Tele-kun. He's doomed on that planet with no idea what happened. Kanon died and I still say Tele-kun had the most depressing ending of them all.

Anyway, this topic isn't actually ending because I'm going to start playing Ar nosurge tomorrow (I might even do twenty minutes tonight just to test vocals/subtitles and make sure everything works) but I still want to thank xp for starting me on this crazy road and everyone else who may be following along. It's been a lot of fun so far, and at this point I've been looking forward to Ar nosurge Plus for over a month so I'm super hyped! Just one question for those of you who played Ar nosurge (presumably) awhile ago. I've done a lot of FF playthrough topics where I sort of summarize the plot as I go along in addition to including my thoughts/reactions. Do you guys need that here or do you remember Ar nosurge well enough that I could say 'I just finished this section, screw Zill' or whatever and you'd know what I was talking about? I'm fine with summarizing the plot since, unlike with Ciel, you haven't just experienced it for yourself, but if it isn't needed I won't patronize you.

Lastly, in case you check back, thank you to black_raen as well. This translation was an amazing thing and I enjoyed Ciel nosurge immensely.
