Eminem had definite arguments a decade ago for GoAT-status, and it's cool that he's aiming for the more specific "speed-rapping" style we normally reserve for Busta Rhymes and Twista -- that's a neat kind of unofficial trophy to aim for in the genre. It's just a harder argument now to make that Eminem is still GoAT.

I dunno though, people still say that about Nas so I guess I get it. I'm on-board with saying peak-Eminem is as good as anybody ever was though, including freestyle battles.

Nas is still way better, just an all around fantastic storyteller and while his weaker stuff is meh like Eminem's, his middle of the road albums I would argue are better and Illmatic and It Was Written are better than MMLP or SSLP IMO.

Kendrick currently has the keys to the kingdom and the talent, storytelling, and flow to end up as the GOAT by the time his career ends. Feels kinda weird but he's in such a league above all the other rappers out there it's phenomenal.
