It really is the "they somehow manage to win it all, despite some sacrifices" type of ending, which I personally love. It's so bittersweet... i love it, it made me cry too, specially when I've cried 3 times in my life to anime stuff, the end of the chimera ant arc in HxH, the movie "Your Name" and this novel... legendarylemur posted... I haven't searched for a translation of the LN yet, but I've been reading the manga for now, and I heard the anime is terrific.
