A little surprised by this topics reaction, I'm so used to the gen-z/alpha perspective that virtually all age gaps are bad regardless of context or actual ages.

Honestly, I do lean into the "mind your own business" category, especially after like 25.

I still stand by that tinge of discomfort I initially expressed in my self-deleted post. Mostly because there still is a maturity gap, I just think back to when I was 26 and I felt like I knew how the world worked but I just didn't.

I think it's definitely because it's a "life experiences" kind of thing rather than just direct numbers. At 26 you've been more or less a fully grown adult for a while. So a big age gap isn't that big of a deal, compared to someone like 18. And basically every adult over the age of 26 can look at how wildly different they were between 18 and 26.

An Age gap of like 26-18 is way more uncomfortable that 45-26, even though the latter is a much larger gap.
