I ignored FNV at launch because I was convinced it was one of those games that I would never play.

However, I finally did play it in 2015. After learning its troubled release history, I am glad that I waited.

Today NV is my second-favorite alltime game, but that first playthough at launch was a disaster. I gave it a second chance a few months later and abandoned the playthough when, due to a convoluted series of events, I got a bug where I was literally locked out of playing Dead Money (this was back when I had dialup too, so not being able to play the DLC I just spent six hours watching like a hawk to make sure it downloaded properly was too much to bear).

Then I gave it a third chance a few months later. Finally getting to play Dead Money was the turning point for me where NV went from "has is moments but is basically just more FO3" to "wow, there might just be something really special about this game."
