One of the best concerts I ever went to in the 90's when I was in the Navy was this smallish but legendary venue in Virginia Beach called The Boathouse that a lot of big bands went to. It only held about 1,500 people and felt like a club and was totally great. Anyway I went there in 96 to watch The Offspring and the Vandals who I loved both of. The opening act was Lunachicks who I wasn't familiar with at the time but they were great and I really came to enjoy their entire run of 90's material.
