Presumably, it's a matter of the difference between C and CE. One of them clears everything and starts over, the other is just like backspacing your current number. So if you hit 30 + 9, then hit the wrong clear, then hit 10 + 2, it'll clear the 9 and give you 42 as the answer. But what does the effing E stand for? Entire? Entry? Everything? Who the hell even knows.
