Incredible game, absolutely GOTY

The concept of the canvas basically being a simulation, for a family to hide in and grieve and fight was an interesting concept. Who the hell are the Writers though? Is the sequel gonna be the start of some assassins creed shit, painters vs writers or something?

Basically the entire ending sequence was incredible from entering the monolith right to the end.

I picked Verso and fought against Maelle in the end. It seemed like such a hard decision at the time. On one hand, Maelle does indeed seem to have a particularly shitty life waiting for her outside the paining, but she isn't completely crippled and she still has a loving family and she would be able to enjoy life after getting over her grief. But she does have the right to stay in the canvas if she wants... and even if being in the canvas is somehow slowly killing her, her parents were in there for at least 67 years, and renoire seemed mostly fine so is it really such a bad thing to live an entire lifetime in the canvas? You'll die but you've lived a lifetime.

On the other hand, the last remnant of versos should basically being forced to keep existing is horrible. I think that fact along with Maelle having her parents to help her move on, (particularly Renoire, he seems like such a good father and trying to help his wife and daughter move on), is basically why I thought picking Verso to fight Maelle was the right choice.

After watching Maelle's ending on youtube, in hindsight it definitely wasn't as tough a decision as it seemed like in the moment, picking Verso was absolutely correct

Anyway if I have one complaint for the game it's probably that the party interactions seem a bit lacking, or maybe it's that the stages seem a bit empty... Maybe I'm in the minority here, while the various stages look incredible, you're sort of just walking the path mostly in solitude, there's very little party dialogue. It makes it overall seem a bit lifeless/stiff. There should have been a bit more banter and a bit more interactions between the party IMO to show them bonding a bit more.
