I couldn't care less if someone made a game where you kill George Washington, for example. I'd probably even think an alternative history was cool. Given the changes, the issue seems less that they are killed and more that they went against the MC's ambition. A lot of the dialogue seems to be changed such that the historical figures are praising the MC for seeking immortality and asking to "carry on their legacy". Which is basically just your standard China "for the party" propaganda. Someone in government probably disliked the idea of a hero not perfectly aligning with the country's historical ideals and pushed this narrative. --- "History Is Much Like An Endless Waltz.
