Yep, I used a larger handpump for spraying fertilizer because I was dealing with a ground nest with probably a few hundred wasps but you'll (probably) be fine with a little dinky spray bottle for those smaller paper wasp nests. Just make sure your bottle actually works before you get in close and preemptively start blasting so that you have droplets already suspended in the air if they decide to attack you.
