Because if it's one thing seeing the cesspit of America's leadership (both sides of the isle), all the known deviants in Britain that were covered up for ages, and just common sense in general could tell you politicians are bastions of morality and definitely not the first people who should be subject to this sort of thing.

In a just world those up top get more restrictions and oversight because when they fuck up (and they fuck up basically all the time TBQH) people die, economies go to shit, lives get ruined, so on and so forth.

Seeing the world leapfrog into a dystopian hellscape (even before global warming kickstarts the end of civilization through global famines in two decades time!) makes me profoundly glad I'm not bringing a child into this bullshit. The planet is being destroyed and mega corporations are running around frying everyones brains for profit and it's all just going to keep circling the drain until the end whenever that ends up being. Blegh.
