It retroactively felt like a proof of concept for what they wanted the Switch to be. A lot of the controller features weren't really thought out.

This was also when they were deep into their alienation of 3rd party devs. Many studios had little support because most of their games needed specific functionality.

The best thing I can give it is the menus and apps had more personality and social aspects, whereas the Switch was really minimalist. It also had probably the best browser made for a console. But none of that mattered if it didn't have a decent library.
