It came into popularity a few years before Mr. Beast, but he basically is galvanized it for click bait content. At this point I avoid like the plague, but I imagine kids who have grown up with it presence, don't understand my annoyance with it. ------ Another carry-over from tv, is long form, mostly monotonous content being standard again. It used to be Youtubers would upload like 50 part vid series's; each video being 10-20mins.
