Israel most likely saved their lives. It is a small boat with just a token aid package. Rumors of a boat filled with food will spread like a wildfire, and the beach will be full of desperate starving people. What they get won't even fill the bellies of everybody gathered, so they will be angry, believe that they are hiding more food on board. They will try to get aboard, and the ship crew will try to save them from drowning, taking them aboard. Their reward will be being attacked, injured, perhaps killed. Add Hamas members, the "street gang" ISIS that Israel have sponsored with weapons and other militant groups that also want the rumored food. Some will get shot, injured, and killed as examples. Some might be taken hostages, which will feel the anger of their captures. They might get killed by attacking IDF, and if they would get rescued by the IDF, will they believe that they will earn more points by "look what Hamas did to them, luckily we saved them" or "look at what evil animals Hamas are, they captured and killed the hand that tried to feed them, just more proof that they deserve to die!"?

We should all just shut up and let Israel do whatever it wants and starve a population because we're too scared of what could happen to us if we help.
