Spoilers for old tv show Sliders
There was a season finale where they picked up a dog and it went in the portal with them at the end of the episode. I actually thought it would be interesting to be taking a dog around the multiverse with them. Next season started with them coming out of the portal and there is no dog and it's never mentioned again. Pissed me off and confused me
